Frequently asked questions
Can I manage oil painting with no prior experience?
Yes. Oil paints dry much more slowly than acrylics, giving you plenty of time to mix shades and refine shapes with the teacher’s guidance.
How long does an oil painting take to dry and when can I take it home?
The oil layer is still wet at the end of the workshop. You can carry the canvas home carefully right away, or leave it at our studio for a few days to become touch-dry.
Can I also study oil painting in a regular course?
Yes — we also work in oils in our regular Drawing & painting for adults course (trial lesson €20, 5-lesson pack €150).
Do the paints smell strong in the studio?
We use modern odourless thinners and mediums at the studio, so working at the easel is comfortable and pleasant.
Want to explore oil painting in depth?
In our regular adult painting course, you can work on a single canvas across several consecutive lessons.
